Objectives:-

                The objectives of the B.A course in Social Work are as under:-

  1. To educate the students about the basic concepts and to acquaint then with various fields of Social Work with reference to Pakistan.
  2. To prepare the students for higher education.
  3. To prepare the students to assume responsibilities in the field areas of Social Work when and where needed.

Practicals:              (Field Work Practice)              50 MARKS

Part ‘A’:-

  • Students will make observational visit to six different social welfare agencies. They will be provided guidelines for observations before each visit.
  • They will write reports about these visits.

 Part ‘B’:-

Students will be assigned to work for two (one each year) of the following activities:-

  1. Organizing recreational group
  2. Helping patients in hospitals.
  3. Helping a local welfare agency in its programmes.
  4. Experience in structured interview.
  5. Experience in interview and recording.

WORK TO BE EXAMINED BY THE INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL EXAMINERS

The recommended break up of marks for the examination is as under:-

–     Reports on field work:  10 Marks.

–     Viva-Voce                       40 Marks

–     The candidates failing to produce their note books containing practicals will not be eligible for viva voce.

The criteria of evaluation in the viva voce would be:-

  • Understanding about the objectives, structure and functions (services and programs) of the agencies visited and role of professional social workers their-in.
  • Ability to relate theory with practice.
  • Ability to communicate and express.
