Answer:

Break fast is a story of poor family willing to work happily. The writer presents a beautiful picture of simple contented and peaceful sons of soil. These people earn their bread with hard work and feel pleased to get little better living as result. They appeared too contented and resigned at their fate. They are always patient and thankful to God for what ever little or more they get by physical hard work. They have no bitter feelings, no complaint, and no anger against any person or the government on the account of their poverty.

The story is consisting of four persons. The old man is the head of the family. His son with his wife and a child lives in a tent and leads a very simple life. They are poor workers. They earn their living by picking cotton from cotton plants. It is a seasonal work.

They have twelve days work I hand but they are happy. The head of the family is very grateful of God for providing them twelve days work. He takes his breakfast and thanks God.

One day writer meets the family. They welcome the writer and offer him breakfast. They share their breakfast with the writer. The writer can not forget his experience of taking breakfast with the poor family. He can not forget the delicious taste of the breakfast. He is greatly impressed by the poor family. Although they are poor yet they offer him a humble breakfast. They invite the writer to share the breakfast and enjoy it. The writer can not forget the simplicity and warmth of the breakfast. They also offer him if he may like to pick cotton with them.

In this way the writer has shown the true picture of poverty. The readers become deeply conscious of the poor. The significance of patient and contentment are quite evident in the story. Hospitality is shown at its height. Therefore, the writer feels always happy to recalls the incident and does not forget it for his future life.

The purity of living is shown by the writer in its real form. The simple and contented people share their feelings with the writer. The writer observes their life so much closely; that he seems to be the part of the picture. It is such a delight full experience for the writer that he still feels very happy, when he recalls purity of living after so many years.
